Arnada association celebrates 35 years

Arnada — The Arnada Neighborhood Association celebrates its 35th anniversary this month. Arnada was officially recognized as a neighborhood association Dec. 20, 1976, the first in Vancouver. It was followed by the Shumway Neighborhood Association, in January 1977, and the Hough Neighborhood Association in April 1977. Today, Vancouver has 64 recognized neighborhood associations across the city. More than 90 percent of the city’s residents are members of a neighborhood association, according to the city of Vancouver.
