Boys basketball: River Ridge 70, Battle Ground 63

River Ridge 70, Battle Ground 63 — The Tigers cut a 22-point halftime deficit to two points late in the fourth quarter but were not able to get any closer at River Ridge.

Micah Hardeman scored 36 points to lead River Ridge.

Jake Belford had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers. Tim Shkarovskiy also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jamie Ford had 15 points for the Tigers.

Battle Ground coach Andy Schoonover said he thinks his squad watched the junior varsity game and assumed it would be an easy game. (The Tigers won the JV contest by 59 points.)

River Ridge, though, jumped out to a 14-point first-quarter lead in the varsity contest.

The Tigers outscored River Ridge by 16 in the second half.
