In response to the letters regarding the inaccessibility of the library to seniors and the disabled, I am a disabled senior and have always been a library card holder. When the new building opened, my husband and I drove to the library on several occasions only to find that no matter what day it was, the parking lot was always full as were all of the on-street parking places. The number of parking places planned for a building of this size is ridiculous. There is additional street parking, but some is located a long hill walk to the door. Most seniors have knee problems, and hills are difficult to navigate in both directions.
I am saddened that my access to the new facility will be limited, if not impossible. How did these oversights pass unnoticed?
