Camas resident earns degree

Jared Scott Loveland, of Camas, graduated from Central Washington University in fall 2010. He earned a bachelor of science degree in flight technology.

Washougal man awarded degree

Michael Page of Washougal earned a science education degree through the post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program at Western Governors University. It is a online university serving students in all 50 states.

Felipe given scholarship

Garrett Felipe, Camas, was awarded a 2011 Global-Automotive Aftermarket Symposium scholarship for $1,000.

These were given to 107 students nationwide. To be eligible, participants must be enrolled full-time in a college-level program or a certified automotive technical program.

Felipe will be attending Clark College in the fall.

Pacific Crest Academy to host ice cream social

Pacific Crest Academy will celebrate its 12th year with an ice cream social and parent orientation for new and prospective families from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25.

River City Hot Dogs will be on site with food for purchase, and free ice cream will be provided by the PCA Parent’s Club.

Pacific Crest Academy is located at 324 N.E. Oak St., Camas. It is an independent Catholic school located at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Childfind screening set for Sept. 14

There will be free screenings for children from birth to age 21 whose parents reside within the Camas School District boundaries. The screenings will occur on Wednesday, Sept. 14.

The screening tests children in hearing, vision, speech, concepts and motor development. It lasts approximately one hour. The screenings are by appointment only. For more information, call the district Special Services department at 833-5570.
