Quilters and fiber artists from all over Washington will show their wares at what’s being billed as the First Annual Camas Quilt and Fiber Arts Festival.

The festival will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at locations in downtown Camas.

There will be demonstrations, free “make-and-take” activities, a “yarn-in” and a raffle. The event is hosted by the Downtown Camas Association, with sponsorship from Craft Warehouse and River Quilts.

Among the charity projects that visitors can help with are the Linus Project, which sews together and distributes gifts of new blankets and afghans; and the Remembering Rowan Project, which collects 9-inch crochet and knit squares to sew into baby blankets. Anyone can donate to the Rowan project beforehand at the Uncommon Gift store in downtown Camas or during the festival at the yarn-in.

For more information, contact the Downtown Camas Association at 360-561-0600 or visit http://www.downtowncamas.com.
