A 28-year-old Vancouver woman, Megan Gatlin, has won $1 million in the Oregon Lottery’s St. Patrick’s Day Raffle.
“I went to cash it in on my birthday,” which was Tuesday, Gatlin told The Columbian on Friday evening. “I’m just letting it sink in. I can’t believe I won.”
Gatlin said she’s worked several years as an in-home caregiver.
“I was on unemployment and my unemployment just ran out,” she said. “So it was perfect.”
The drawing was March 17, and Gatlin waited 26 days to present her winning ticket at the lottery office in Salem, lottery spokesman Ray Martin said Friday in a press bulletin.
