“Week of the Child” at WSU Vancouver

Published: April 13, 2011, 12:00am

The Child Development Program at WSU Vancouver, a teaching, research and service unit of the university’s Department of Human Development, helps create a “best practices” model for early childhood education. It provides two full-day programs for families with preschool children between 3 1/2 and 5 years old and kindergarten age children between 5 and 6 years old.

As part of the “Week of the Young Child,” the program is keeping a display of children’s work and photo documentations of their learning experiences on the first floor of the McClaskey building from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. through April 15.

The display will focus on five areas of learning: art, construction, dramatic play, nature play and physical play. It is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the university’s event page.
