Fifth-graders excel at math

Ridgefield — Union Ridge Elementary’s fifth-grade Math is Cool team took first place in a recent regional-level team competition at Fort Vancouver High School. Students faced other fifth graders from the Clark County area. The youngsters had to take individual math tests as well as various team tests. Franzen Villavicenccio, Zane Paganelli and John Bauer placed in the top 10 for individual test scores. Five members of the team, -Bauer, Nick Conrad, Natalie Dean, Paganelli and Villavicenccio, will test their math skills at the state championships in Moses Lake on May 21st.
