Employees at a fast-food restaurant in Hazel Dell said they were forced into a bathroom Monday night while two armed and masked men stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

Deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Kentucky Fried Chicken, 1203 N.E. 78th St., at 10:23 p.m., after the robbers had fled. They initiated a K-9 search but failed to find the two men.

Employees at the restaurant said the men forced their way in through the back door. The men took cash from the register and the employees. The two men broke the employees’ cell phones to prevent them from calling 911.

One suspect was described as a white man in his 30s, 5 feet 8 inches, and dressed in all black clothing. The other was a white man in his 30s with a small build wearing a black sweatshirt and black sweats.

An investigation is ongoing. As of late Tuesday night, sheriff’s detectives had reported no arrest.
