Salmon Creek — The Skyview High School dance team, Skyview Reign, took first place in the 4A division show category at the 2010-11 WIAA State Championships. The team of 26 students competed March 26 in Yakima. The winning routine included spinning rifles, flags, balls, backdrops and a giant painted tarp the size of a basketball court. Parent volunteers, dancers and friends painted the props and Knucklehead Clothing Co. in Salmon Creek donated the use of a trailer for transporting the equipment to the competition. The team head coach is Pattie Allinger. Watch the team’s winning routine on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OXnfCpwZso.
