Freshman Jay Becker rushed for 123 yards and three touchdowns and also threw for 147 yards and three scores in King’s Way win on the road Saturday.
The game ended in the third quarter due to the 45-point mercy rule.
Becker, who played on the 14-year-old Hazel Dell Metro Babe Ruth baseball team that reached the World Series in August, was at quarterback for the second and third quarters.
Becker scored on runs of 54, 31 and 5 yards. He had TD pass plays of 15 yards (to Carter Toval), 65 yards (to Chris Crenshaw), and 6 yards (to Daniel Gillock).
Also finding the end zone for King’s Way were JR Ehline on a 44-yard run, Daniel Butler on a 37-yard run, and Sean Russell on a 64-yard pass play from David Veltkamp. Brad Benton completed the scoring with a 25-yard fumble recovery return.
