Prep football Week 3: Fort Vancouver vs. Washougal

The Columbian
Published: September 16, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at Fishback Stadium, Washougal HS

Records: Fort Vancouver (1-1), Washougal (2-0); non-league game

Game notes: Fort won last year’s meeting 8-7. …. Richard Vansiclen had a solid all-around game for Fort, rushing for 95 yards and three TD and passing for 56 more. … Jordan Vela has been an all-around performer, rushing for 222 yards and catching six passes for 153 yards. … Colton Sullivan threw three TD passes against White Salmon, including two to Sam O’Hara. … O’Hara had three TD receptions and a 55-yard TD run this season. … The Panthers’ defense has given up 14 points this season, but will be challenged by the Trappers’ attack. … Washougal last opened the season 3-0 in 2004.

The Columbian’s take: To think, a failed two-point conversion against Ridgefield kept this game from being a matchup of 2-0 teams … from Fort and Washougal. The Panthers are improved, but they’ll find Fort to be a tougher challenge than the Bay team they met in Week 1. Pick: Fort Vancouver
