Prep football Week 2: Hockinson vs. Prairie

The Columbian
Published: September 10, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at District Stadium, Battle Ground

Records: Hockinson 0-1, Prairie 0-1; non-league game

Game notes: Prairie QB Colin Seitz put up some impressive numbers in the Falcons’ 47-34 loss to Lakewood. Seitz rushed nine times for 112 yards and three touchdowns. He also was 18 for 34 passing for 166 yards. … But the Falcons defense had a hard time stopping Lakewood QB Justine Lane, who threw five TD passes. … Hockinson’s passing game won’t be as difficult to defend. The Hawks were 4 for 10 for 23 yards in a 45-6 loss to La Center. … The Hawks had more success on the ground with Cameron Flemming rushing 14 times for 90 yards. … The Falcons will look for more help for Seitz. RB Jode Deklerk ran for 62 yards on 10 carries.

Columbian’s take: Seitz was one of the bright spots for the Falcons last year, and he’s looking to build on his experience this year. Last week’s effort was a good start. Hockinson is still looking for some bright spots. After losing by 39 points to 1A team, playing a 3A school does not bode well for the Hawks. Pick: Prairie
