When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at Doc Harris Stadium, Camas
Records: Camas (8-0, 5-0); Kelso (6-2, 4-1); 3A GSHL league game.
Game notes: Camas takes the 3A GSHL championship with a win over the Hilanders. … It would also give the Papermakers the No. 1 seed to next week’s 3A state preliminary round, where the Papermakers would host the loser of Friday’s Seattle Prep-Rainier Beach game. … If Kelso wins and Mountain View beats Columbia River, there would be a three-way tie for the league championship, requiring some kind of tiebreaker. … If Kelso wins and Mountain View loses, Kelso takes the No. 1 seed and Camas is No. 2 … The No. 2 seed will travel to play Timberline of Lacey in the state preliminary round. … Camas opened the season with a win over Timberline. … The No. 3 team from the 3A GSHL will travel to play the Seattle Prep-Rainier Beach winner. … If Kelso loses and River beats Mountain View, there would be a three-way tie for second place, requiring an on-field tiebreaker to determine Nos. 2 and 3 seeds and to eliminate one team. … Camas RB Zack Marshall had two rushes and two receptions last week against Fort Vancouver, but scored three touchdowns. … Camas QB Zach Grindy has passed for 1522 yards and 16 TDs. … Kelso has been outscored 64-7 in its two losses to Union and Mountain View.
The Columbian’s take: The Hilanders’ best win of the season was a 12-3 win over Columbia River in Week 2. Beyond that, they’ve unimpressive wins over Hudson’s Bay, Fort Vancouver, Prairie, Evergreen and Mark Morris. And they looked very bad in their two losses. Camas hasn’t looked bad all season. PICK: Camas
