Logan Grindy hadn’t even stepped on the field before his team had a 7-0 lead Friday night at Kiggins Bowl.

Damon Kosaki’s defensive touchdown — a 73-yard fumble return — started the rout early in the first quarter.

Grindy, Camas’ quarterback, turned the rest of the first half into a passing clinic. Not to be outdone, his receivers turned into YAC masters — that’s yards after catch.

Camas locked up at least a share of the Class 3A Greater St. Helens League title, and will face Kelso next week for the outright title and the No. 1 seed.

Grindy was 8 of 11 for 201 yards and four touchdowns in the first half and did not throw another pass.

Zack Marshall scored three touchdowns — two receiving and one on a 75-yard run.

Miguel Salamanca had the first of several big plays for the offense, catching a swing pass from Grindy, then waiting for his blockers to spring him for a 67-yard touchdown.

Grindy would find Marshall twice for touchdowns in the second quarter. The first, Marshall made a highlight-reel move to beat the last Fort Vancouver defender. The Papermakers ended the scoring in the half with a 15-yard TD pass from Grindy to Jonathan Warner, who fought through several would-be tacklers to get into the end zone.

Marshall busted his long touchdown run on Camas’ first offensive play in the third quarter. On its second play of the quarter, Addison Owen broke free for a 58-yard touchdown run. That made it 49-0, and the game turned into running clock mode.

Camas’ starting offense gained 365 yards on 15 plays and scored six touchdowns.

Next up: Camas (8-0, 5-0) vs. Kelso; Fort Vancouver (2-6, 0-5) vs. Hudson’s Bay
