The Columbian
Published: October 21, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 5 p.m. Friday at McKenzie Stadium

Records: Mountain View (5-2, 3-1); Hudson’s Bay (1-6, 0-4); 3A GSHL game

Game notes: Hudson’s Bay lost to Prairie on a late fourth-quarter TD pass play. Bay stayed close despite turnover the ball over five times. … Bay RB Richard Carter rushed for 132 yards on nine carries. RB Kimothy King rushed for 60 yards on 11 carries, but 51 of those yards came on two TD runs. … Mountain View shut down Kelso’s ground game last week, holding the Hilanders to 32 yards on 19 carries in the first half and forcing Kelso to throw the ball. … Mountain View nearly had three RBs rush for 100 yards last week — P.J. Jones (136), Jeff Carmody (100), Sterling Reynolds (92). … Win or loss this week, Mountain View will need to beat Columbia River next week to clinch a playoff berth. … A win this week will keep the Thunder’s hope of a share of the league title alive.

The Columbian’s take: Hudson’s Bay appears to be improving as they season progress. But Mountain View has shown the ability to shut down the ground attack, and that’s not a good sign for the Eagles. PICK: Mountain View
