Prep football Week 7: Union vs. Battle Ground

The Columbian
Published: October 15, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 8 p.m. Friday at McKenzie Stadium

Records: Battle Ground (1-5, 0-2); Union (5-1, 1-0).

Game notes: Union’s defense has not allowed a touchdown in more than 14 quarters, shutting out Kelso and Mountain View. Last week, Heritage scored TDs via a kickoff return and an interception return. … That’s not a good statistics for a Battle Ground team that was shut out 52-0 to Skyview last week. … Battle Ground’s lone win came in Week 3 in a 20-14 win in double OT over a winless Class 2A team, Woodland. … Union’s Zak Browning has rushed for at least 138 yards in each of the last four games. … Last week, Brandon Brody-Heim rushed for 136 yards for the Titans.

Columbian’s take: Battle Ground and Union have met once, in 2008. Union won that game 59-10. The Tigers would be hard-pressed to get 10 points against THIS Union squad. PICK: Union
