Hockinson improved on the first meeting with Mark Morris, but ran out of steam.

The Hawks led 10-7 at halftime, but the Monarchs scored 21 in the second half while shutting Hockinson out en route to the non-league win.

Mark Morris won the league game 47-7 on Sept. 24.

“We just made some mistakes … too many points on big plays,” Hockinson coach Rick Steele said. “We had them on their heels in the first half. We were pumped up and ready to play. We just wore down in the second half.”

Hockinson’s Conner Perry scored on a 32-yard pass play from Jess Krahn in the second quarter, which followed a 32-yard field goal by Shemelle Battan.

Next up: Mark Morris (4-2) at W.F. West; Hockinson (0-6) vs. R.A. Long.
