1A Trico football: La Center 40, Castle Rock 13

La Center’s running game was solid again as the Wildcats accounted for 387 yards on the ground in the win over visiting Castle Rock.

Ryan Kulla carried the ball 17 times for 132 yards and two touchdowns, Seth Baxter also had 17 carries for 138 yards, and Chris Mayolo found the end zone twice and rushed for 71 yards.

Gunnar Lowery and Patrick Mayolo each scored a TD for La Center.

“With what we do, everyone contributed,” La Center coach John Lambert said. “With the blocking it wasn’t just the O-line, but also the tight ends and wing backs. It was a complete game.”

La Center had 21 first downs. On defense, the Wildcats had two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.

Next up: Castle Rock (2-4, 1-3) vs. Ridgefield; La Center (5-1, 3-1) at Stevenson
