Prep football Week 6: Woodland vs. R.A. Long

The Columbian
Published: October 8, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 7 p.m. Friday at Longview Memorial Stadium

Records: Woodland (0-5, 0-1), R.A. Long (4-1, 1-0); 2A GSHL league game

Game notes: R.A. Long came out of the gate playing tough defense. But the Lumberjacks have given up 69 points in the past two weeks. That’s good news for the offensive-minded Beavers. … Woodland QB Adam Shoup has passed for 959 yards and eight TDs this season … Shoup’s favorite target, Nick Fuller, has 31 catches for 510 yards and 8 TDs. … But the Beavers have surrendered 107 points in the past two weeks. … Expect a lot of points.

Columbian’s take: Woodland can move the ball, but struggles to stop the ball. R.A. Long have enough playmakers to make the Beavers pay for any defensive lapses. PICK: R.A. Long
