Prep football Week 6: Skyview vs. Battle Ground

The Columbian
Published: October 7, 2010, 12:00am

When, where: 7 p.m. Thursday at District Stadium, Battle Ground

Records: Skyview (3-2, 1-0); Battle Ground (1-4, 0-1); 4A GSHL league game

Game notes: It’s been a rough season for the Tigers. Their only win this season came against Woodland, a winless 2A team. And that win came at home in overtime. … But Battle Ground may have found a new weapon in Kokou Akengue. Akengue rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns against Evergreen last week. … Junior QB Kieran McDonagh had a great game starting in place of Kody Watts last week against Lincoln of Portland. He completed 19 of 23 pass for 310 yards and 4 TDs … WR Karl Graves caught eight passes for 195 yards and three TDs. … Skyview erased a 26-14 deficit last week to score the final 35 points against Lincoln. … PK Nick Phillips was 7-for7 on PAT attempts.

The Columbian’s take: Battle Ground looks to be improving, but not enough to get past the Storm. PICK: Skyview
