It’s official: The Camas Papermakers will play host to Lakes in the Class 3A state football quarterfinals at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Doc Harris Stadium.
The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association confirmed Monday what had already been anticipated. Both programs wanted a Friday game instead of a Saturday game because the winner will advance to a semifinal game in the Tacoma Dome, which already was scheduled for the following Friday.
Ticket presale for Camas High School students and adults will be Thursday and Friday at the Camas High business office from 7-7:30 a.m., 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. and 2:10-3 p.m.
Prices are $8 for adults and students with an ASB card and $6 for students with ASB, and children ages 5-11 and seniors 62 and older.
Camas (11-0) is coming off a 20-13 victory over Juanita of Kirkland on Saturday. It was the first victory in a state playoff game in the program’s history.
Lakes of Lakewood improved to 10-1 with a 49-21 victory over Meadowdale in its first-round game Friday.
The Camas-Lakes winner will reach the final four and play a 7 p.m. game in the Tacoma Dome on Nov. 26, the day after Thanksgiving. The Class 3A state championship game is a 4 p.m. kickoff on Friday, Dec. 3, according to the WIAA website.
The Papermakers beat Juanita without much from first-string running back Zack Marshall, who left the game with a foot injury during the first series. Camas coach Jon Eagle said Monday that Marshall, who has scored 24 touchdowns this season, is “50-50” for the quarterfinal.
