Big plays from Hoquiam and fourth-down defensive stops helped defeat La Center (6-4), ending the Wildcats’ season.
Hoquiam’s Jerid Ronquillo scored on a 53-yard run and a 4-yard run in the third quarter to break a 12-12 halftime tie.
“There were lots of big plays, they just had the final big play,” La Center coach John Lambert said.
La Center’s Ryan Kulla rushed 18 times for 124 yards and a fourth-quarter touchdown. Chris Mayolo rushed 10 times for 100 yards and a TD, and Seth Baxter carried 21 times for 99 yards and a TD.
“This was a good group of seniors,” Lambert said. “We have good young kids and should be tougher next season. I’m proud of how well they (all) played this year.”
