Game notes

• NEW QB AT CAMAS: Paul Valencia was on a live chat produced by the News Tribune in Tacoma earlier this week. He reports there were people wondering if Camas could win without starting quarterback Logan Grindy. While losing Grindy to a broken leg is a huge deal, the Papermakers are confident that junior Tony Gennaro can get the job done. Gennaro played extensively in the summer, when Grindy was recovering from an injured thumb. … Camas is ranked No. 2 in the state, and it’s not just because of Grindy. The Papermakers still believe.

• SKYVIEW GETS ODD START TIME: Class 4A Greater St. Helens League champion Skyview will kick off at 4 p.m. Saturday at Kiggins Bowl. There is a soccer match at 1 p.m. in the bowl, followed by football.

• REMEMBER THEM? Skyview and Union each made it to the state semifinals last year, so both programs are accustomed to long playoff runs.

• INTERNET RADIO: Plenty of options for your computer this weekend. Carl Click will produce three road games for Clark County teams. Click on www.carlclick.com to hear Union vs. Bothell and Heritage vs. Kentwood today. On Saturday, that site will have Mountain View vs. Timberline. … And Ron Soanka will broadcast Skyview’s home game on Saturday on sportsbeatradio.com.

• TRADITIONAL RADIO: KFXX AM 1080 is doing play-by-play for the Camas-Rainier Beach game tonight at 7 p.m.

• STEVENSON FEVER: No matter what happens tonight, it’s gotta be cool to be a Stevenson football fan. The Bulldogs will play their first home playoff game in school history.
