Harlo is a 4-year-old black and tan coonhound who came from another shelter. He is very playful and energetic and would do best in a home with kids older than age 6. He also needs a home without cats. Harlo would need a backyard with a 6-foot-tall wooden fence, because he’s a hound and likes to follow his nose.

Max is a 12-year-old, female domestic shorthair. She came to the shelter when her family could no longer take care of her. Max would prefer to be an indoor only cat and lounge around on the couch.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
