Melissa is a 5-year-old blue and white domestic shorthair. Melissa came to us when her family could no longer take care of her. Melissa has lived with other cats and dogs. We do ask that she goes home with a family with children over the age of 6. Melissa prefers not to be held and is a more independent cat.

Luna is a 10-year-old Siberian husky with a whole lot of love to give. She came to us from another shelter in hopes of finding her forever home. She’s a sweet older gal who seems to get along with everybody. If you have any dogs or kids at home, it would be great if you could bring them in to meet her.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
