Kitten season has begun and there are many up for adoption at the Humane Society. All kittens come spayed or neutered, with their first set of vaccinations. They are also dewormed, flea treated, and microchipped.

Poppie is a 7-year-old Labrador retriever-mastiff mix. He has had kind of a rough life, but he is ready to meet you and find a home. Poppie will need a home with kids older than 14. He loves to play and will play with his toys until he runs out of breath.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
