A pair of malfunctioning traffic signals on Northeast Hazel Dell Avenue at 81st and 82nd streets were repaired Wednesday.
The signals had been set on flashing red mode since the controller failed March 7. Public works officials explained that the controller, which was more than 20 years old, could not be repaired and a new one had to be custom-built and tested.
The dual intersections only a few yards apart are both controlled by the same device.
