LAKE SHORE — There will be a dedication celebration for Jack Z. Fazio Neighborhood Park on Saturday.

The park, formerly Lakeshore Neighborhood Park, 9600 N.W. 21st Ave., was renamed in 2009 for Jack A. Fazio, a local businessman and farmer.

He and his family sold the parkland adjacent to his home to the county in 2003. Fazio died in 2007.

The 2 p.m. Saturday event will feature comments by county, parks and neighborhood officials. There will be a ribbon cutting and light refreshments.

The event will go forward rain or shine.

Parking is available across the street from the park at All Saints Episcopal Church, 2206 N.W. 99th St.

The 5.2-acre park opened late last year and features a walking trail, playground, basketball half-court, picnic tables and benches.

For more information, visit http://www.clarkparks.org/projects/fazio.htm, or contact parks spokeswoman Jilayne Jordan at 360-397-6118, ext. 4949.
