CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Volunteers who helped nurse three injured barn owls back to health released the birds Thursday night at a farm south of Philomath.
The Gazette-Times newspaper reports the first two owls flew into a nearby field once their individual carrying boxes were opened. The third waited a few moments before flying away and perching in a nearby tree.
The three owls were brought to the Chintimini Wildlife Rehabilitation Center this spring.
One adult was found injured at a mill in Toledo, and two fledglings were injured after falling from their nests.
