Watching weddings from the porch

My wife, Penelope, and I lived on the Row for several years in the 1990s.

I especially enjoyed people-watching from our wrap-around porch. It was pleasant to observe the many weddings. The small gazebo, band stand and Marshall House all provided lovely wedding settings. Some days, all three were used. One “gazebo” wedding party followed a bagpiper across the parade field to the Marshall House.

Other fond memories for us include summer afternoon croquet games and the many fun Christmas parties we hosted.
