If there was a major earthquake, heavy flooding or some other community crisis that kept emergency responders from reaching you, what would you do?

Learn what to do through Community Emergency Response Team training being offered Thursdays, Jan. 28 through March 18.

The curriculum covers fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.

The training costs $30. It’s being offered by the Vancouver Fire Department. Sessions are set for 7 to 9:30 p.m. Jan. 28; Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25; March 4, 11 and 18. A final drill will be 8 a.m. March 20.

To apply for the training, visit http://www.cityofvancouver.us/preparedness.asp. Contact Tami Kihs, 360-487-8627 for more information.
