Members of the Skyview High School Band in Arizona to play in conjunction with the Fiesta Bowl found themselves snowed in Wednesday while returning from a day trip to the Grand Canyon.

Jodi Church, mother of tuba player Eric Church, said in an e-mail that she was informed that the band had to staying in Williams, Ariz., after white-out conditions closed the road.

Church said the kids are in good spirits and are “safe, warm, and fed,” according to Lisa Budnik, president of Skyview Band and Dance.

Another e-mailer said the students had found rooms in a motel and still plan to make the band competition on Thursday.
