Workshops for women: Umpqua Bank is hosting a three-part series of free workshops for women, Lessons for Women, By Women regarding travel, money management and health. Gloria Johnson, who directs Umpqua’s Club Carefree program, which offers entertainment and travel opportunities to people older than 50, will be the presenter. The series begins with “Traveling on a Shoestring,” offering tips on safety, sticking to a budget and learning about other cultures, at 6 p.m. Aug. 19 at Heathman Lodge, 7801 N.E. Greenwood Drive. Study group for human resource professionals: Southwest Washington Human Resource Management Association is offering a 12-week study group for human resource professionals in preparation for PHR/SPHR professional certification exam or to gain a broader understanding and overview of human resources management. The group will meet 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays beginning Sept. 2 at Dick Hannah’s Subaru at the Auto Mall. Fees range from $55 to $200.
