My dad, L. S. Hall, served at Vancouver Barracks from 1936 until 1939. He will soon be 96 years old. He speaks fondly of life at the barracks and of General George Marshall’s presence there. He remembers General Marshall and his wife riding horseback around the base. Also, before General Marshall moved in, my dad helped paint his house on Officers Row. Additionally, he remembers the parades and the surprise landing of the Russian plane.
