Southwest Washington Medical Center has recognized Cheryl Crispin as the HomeCare Association of Washington’s Therapist of the Year. She was honored at a luncheon in Seattle in early April. Crispin is a 13-year employee HomeCare Southwest and a resident of Vancouver.
Gerald “Sonny” Breunig of Vancouver was elected in March to the national board of directors for the Independent Council of Jackson Hewitt Franchisees. Breunig and his wife, Diane Rohrbach, own and operate 52 Jackson Hewitt Tax Service offices in Southwest Washington and Oregon.
Patricia Smith, president and chief executive officer of Unitus Community Credit Union, was recently named one of the top Women in Business by the Portland Business Journal. Smith, a Clark County resident, was one of 25 women selected from among 200 nominees to receive the annual Orchid Award for achievement in business and contributions to the community. She was recognized for her work on behalf of Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network.
Leonard Felix, president and owner of CID Bio-Science, received the 2010 Small Business Exporter of the Year award. The U.S. Small Business Administration presents the award to an individual who owns and operates a small business engaged in exporting. CID Bio-Science Inc. is at 4901 N.W. Two physicians who practice at Rebound Orthopedics and Neurosurgery’s Vancouver facilities have been recognized as among America’s Top Doctors by Best Doctors, Inc. Dr. Scott Woll and Dr. Mark Colville were recognized by the firm, which relies on a peer-to-peer survey, plus evaluation of credentials, disciplinary actions and clinical activity to arrive at its list. Only 5 percent of U.S. doctors are included on the list, according to a news release. Woll, who has made the list annually for 15 years, is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in problems of the foot and ankle. Colville specializes in knee, shoulder and sports medicine and is the team physician for the Portland Winterhawks and two area universities. This is his ninth Top Doctor recognition.
Scott Milam, NW Natural’s former district manager for Southwest Washington, and Ken Imse, a long-time banker in Vancouver, have formed Milam-Imse Consulting. Milam has a degree in business management and a master’s degree in strategic planning. Imse has 25 years of experience as a commercial banker in the Vancouver market.

Community Foundation for Southwest Washington has earned a Gold Award in Public Information Campaigns and a Silver Award in the website category from the Wilmer Shields Rich Awards for Excellence in Communications. There are more than 700 community foundations in the United States.
The organization that has been known for the past seven years as CREAM (Computer Reuse Education and Marketing) has changed its name to Empower Up: Technology Reuse In Action. The name change signifies the organization’s desire to emphasize the work they do to empower individuals in the community through the reuse of donated computers and electronics. Coinciding with the new name is an updated website, which can be found at http://www.empowerupnow.org.

The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce has joined a statewide alliance that offers employee benefits through Associated Employers Trust. By joining the alliance, chamber members that employ 5 to 199 employees will have access to a full range of employee benefits from such companies as UnitedHealthcare, Washington Dental Service, Vision Service Plan and Unimerica Life and Disability. Associated Employers Trust, based in Spokane, was established as an alternative for small employers to purchase medical coverage, It provides services to more than 600 member companies in Washington.
