Gladys is an 8-year-old terrier/Lab mix who was found on the street in Vancouver. She is very sweet, and can be shy at times. But give her some time to warm up and she’ll be your friend forever. She loves to take long, leisurely walks. She’s an older gal, but has a lot of life and love to give.

Tabbu is a 3-year-old male black-and-white short-haired cat. He was wandering around on his own, until someone was kind enough to bring him to the shelter. He was a bit shy, but after a few days of adjustment, his true colors came out, and he is eagerly looking for a new family. He is not fond of dogs and will need a dog-free home. Tabbu has a friend that he met at the shelter named Oscar, and they would love to go home together. In fact if you adopt Tabbu, Oscar is free.

These pets are among those available for adoption from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Humane Society for Southwest Washington, 1100 N.E. 192nd Ave., Vancouver. Fees — which can include registered microchip, health exam, a spay or neuter certificate and vaccination — vary. Call 360-693-4746.
