Rotary offering college, vocational scholarships

The Lewis River Rotary is taking applications for $19,500 in college and vocational scholarships for the 2010-11 school year.

Scholarships are comprehensive and based on grades, career goals, extracurricular activities, community service and need. Applicants must submit an application and essay on the Rotary’s “Four Way Test” to be considered.

Students already out of high school may compete in the continuing education category and will be evaluated on the same criteria as high school students.

The applications are available in area high schools and at http://clubrunner.ca/lewisriver. Click on downloads and scholarship application.

Applications are due by Thursday and may be submitted to career centers, high school counselors’ offices or mailed to Lewis River Rotary, P.O. Box 1498, Battle Ground, WA 98604.
