YWCA opens office in community center

Battle Ground’s new community center has a new tenant: the YWCA.

The YWCA Clark County, headquartered on Main Street in Vancouver, has opened a once-per-week satellite office in the Battle Ground Community Center, 912 E. Main St., as part of the agency’s effort to serve more people outside Vancouver.

The office is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays. Domestic violence and sexual assault victim advocates will be available to offer support, education and resources. All services are free and confidential.

An open house is planned for Nov. 30 during regular hours. To learn more, contact Lisa Watts at 360-906-9143 or lwatts@ywcaclarkcounty.org.

The YWCA’s mission is to help victims of domestic violence, homelessness, sexual assault, child abuse and neglect, and oppression, as well as youth in foster care and incarcerated women.
