BASIC TRAINING

Navy Seaman Apprentice Jacob S. Elliott, a 2009 graduate of Skyview High School, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.

Marine Corps Pvt. Kevin W. Jewell, son of Rose and Kenneth Jewell of Washougal, has completed recruit training and will attend combat engineering school at Camp Lejeune, N.C. He is a 2009 graduate of Washougal High School.

Army National Guard Pvt. Sean McIntosh, son of Susan and Jim McIntosh of Vancouver, has completed basic training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is a 2004 graduate of Skyview High School.

Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Lacey J. Nelson, granddaughter of Bonnie Shirley of Washougal, has completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is a 2007 graduate of Washougal High School.

PROMOTIONS

Navy Seaman Apprentice Joshua D. Walling, son of Danielle and Jeffery Walling of Vancouver, was promoted to his current rank upon graduation from recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2005 graduate of Evergreen High School.

RETURNED FROM DEPLOYMENT

Army Reserve Sgt. Elijah J.T. Seely, son of Colleen Lindsay of Brush Prairie and Timothy Seely of Vancouver, has returned to the United States after an overseas deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. Seely is assigned to the 448th Civil Affairs Battalion at Fort Lewis and has three years of military service. He is a 2003 graduate of Prairie High School and a 2008 graduate of Western Washington University in Bellingham.
