The bond had 62.96 percent approval after an additional 1,430 ballots were counted Wednesday; more than 1,000 of those were in favor of the bond. The first round of ballot counting on Tuesday showed the bond with 61.07 percent approval.

School bus, vehicle involved in head-on crash

Police are on scene of a head-on crash between a school bus loaded with children and a passenger vehicle, according to emergency radio traffic monitored by The Columbian. No children were injured, an emergency dispatcher said.
