Don't Dislike the Yankees for the Wrong Reason

I'll admit it, I'm not happy about the Yankees winning the World Series. I also don't root for Darth Vader or Godzilla or Hannibal Lecter.

Cheering for the Yankees is like cheering for Wal-Mart or Exxon. It must be a soul-killing, joyless experience, one that is completely devoid of pleasure, even when they win the World Series.

Yet while you could write a Master's thesis on how the Yankees are evil incarnate, one of the most common criticisms of them is dubious. It is absurd to complain about New York "buying" a championship. . . .

A Plan For College Football

I can't take credit for this, but it's an intriguing idea for improving college football.

No, we aren't going to talk about a playoff. We addressed that a while back, and this idea doesn't deal with the messiness of determining the national champion. But this sounds like a great idea. . . .
