Wednesday, July 23, 2008 By CRAIG BROWN, Columbian Staff WriterVancouver police Wednesday released photos of the man who held up the Bank of America, 805 Broadway, on Tuesday morning.
Detectives believe he is also responsible for a robbery at that same branch on Aug. 20, 2007.
The suspect, dubbed the "Backpack Bandit," presented a demand note to the teller. No weapon was displayed.
In the August 2007 robbery the suspect wore a Boston Red Sox baseball cap and in the July 2008 robbery the suspect wore a "Rocawear" logo baseball cap. The suspect also wore a backpack in each robbery.
The suspect is a white male 25-27 years of age, 5'6"-5'8", medium build, brown hair.
