Firefighters in Klickitat County continued to make progress against the Cold Springs Fire, which has burned 7,956 acres since July 12. The fire was 60 percent contained Sunday, with mop-up work continuing. Some deliberate burnout in the interior of the fire may cause people to see smoke over the next few days, according to a bulletin from firefighters.

Some campgrounds and trails near the fire remain closed. Climbers can reach White Salmon Glacier, Avalanche Glacier, North Cleaver Glacier and Adams Glacier from the north.

No serious injuries related to the fire have been reported.
