Anders Hetland Manley, son of Roch and Anita Manley of Vancouver, was recently sworn in to the class of 2012 at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, Conn. A 2008 graduate of Hudson’s Bay High School, Manley was recognized for superior academic achievement and leadership potential.

BASIC TRAINING

Marine Corps Pfc. Simon I. Golden, son of George and April Golden of Vancouver, completed recruit training in San Diego on June 13, and is completing four weeks of combat training at Camp Pendleton, Calif. He is a 2005 graduate of Fort Vancouver High School.

Navy Seaman Recruit Christopher R. Lee, a 2007 graduate of Washougal High School, has completed basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is the nephew of Glenn Miller of Washougal.

Air Force Reserve Airman Ryan J. Perry, son of David and Cheryl Perry of Battle Ground, has completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2005 graduate of Battle Ground High School.
