Letter: Support Mother and Child Act

By Willie Dickerson, Snohomish
Published: March 18, 2018, 6:00am

Checking the update on the cosponsors for the Reach Every Mother and Child Act shows Reps., Cathy McMorris Rodgers, R-Wash., Rick Larsen, D-Wash., and Denny Heck, D-Wash., are now co-sponsors, joining the majority of the Washington Congressional Delegation. (“Urge support for mothers,” Sept. 10, The Columbian)

Unfortunately, Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, is not one of the co-sponsors, yet. She needs to hear why this legislation is critical. We know how to save lives, we need the political will to take action that the Reach Act helps create. So call, write, or visit with Herrera Beutler and ask her to join her colleagues to cosponsor and pass the Reach Act to make America’s part in this life-saving work more efficient.
