The body of a Vancouver man missing since late February was found Friday morning above Dougan Falls, according to the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded shortly before 9 a.m., after getting a call about a body found on a private drive off the W. 2000 Road, about 4 miles north of Dougan Falls, the sheriff’s office said.

There, they found Michael A. Conley, 51. The investigation led deputies to a vehicle about 3 miles northeast of where Conley was found.

The sheriff’s office said there was no obvious indication of what caused his death, but it was clear he had been exposed to snow and cold temperatures. The vehicle they found was off the roadway, disabled and in more than a foot of snow.

Conley’s family reported he had gone missing to the Vancouver Police Department on Feb. 27, and he had been seen last on Feb. 22, the sheriff’s office said.

The vehicle deputies found was reported as stolen to the Clark County Sheriff’s office Thursday, but had been taken on Feb. 23 or 24.

The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into Conley’s death was ongoing, and his body was taken to the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and toxicology test.
