Letter: Trump lacks diplomacy

By Carl S. Scheuffele, Vancouver

I agree with President Trump on the U.S. footing the bill for the U.N. The way to make other nations pay their fair share is not by insulting or threatening them. The word is “diplomacy” — something Trump sorely lacks. Diplomacy is the act of discussing problems intelligently.

When Trump alienates and insults our neighbors and G7 members, and embraces dictators and mass murderers, it questions his logic in foreign policy. Does he want to make this country great again, or what?
