Mountain View freshman Willie Yeh sank a 35-foot birdie put on the first hole to win a four-person sudden death playoff at the Prairie Invitational on Wednesday.

Union captured the team title in the annual event, which gathered golfers from nearly a dozen local schools at The Cedars on Salmon Creek.

Yeh shot even-par 71 over his 18-hole round. But so did Keith Lobis and Dylan Henry of Union and Kyle Gomez of Columbia River.

Yeh ended the suspense by making his 35-foot putt on Hole No. 1, a par 4. Union won the team title with 295. Battle Ground (305) was second followed by Columbia River (307).
