Laynie Erickson had 18 kills and 30 digs, but La Center volleyball couldn’t get past host Castle Rock in a match between the Class 1A Trico League’s top teams.

Castle Rock won 3-1 in a match where every set was close (25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 25-22).

“Overall we played well,” La Center coach Cymani O’Brien said. “Unfortunately, we dug ourselves into some holes and we didn’t have enough of the set left to come out of it. Lots of long rallies and great play by both teams.”

Castle Rock improved to 4-0 the Trico League and 8-0 overall.

Emma Shahbazi had 6 kills and 18 digs for La Center (7-3, 4-1). Amanda Holm had 37 assists and 18 digs.
